Treen was first established in 1929 as
a quality manufacturer of work gloves. As the company
grew, Treen successfully set up alliances with offshore
suppliers to import economy gloves while maintaining
local manufacturing of specialty gloves - primarily
for forestry, mining, and food processing industries.
The diversification of the Treen product line continued
in the mid 1980's with the introduction of many safety
lines to the glove mix, making us the "head to
toe" one-stop safety supplier.
The tradition that Treen has of designing a glove to fit the job is now
applied to a wide range of personal safety products
- clothing, eye/face protection, fall arrest, footwear,
head protection, hearing protection, rainwear, respiratory
protection, and more. In fact, Treen has also diversified
its manufacturing so far that we are now Western Canada's
largest manufacturer of traffic vests and other hi-visibility
apparel.
For the original mainstay of forestry, Treen is now
a leader in many other industries (see Customers).
More and more, Treen is building a national presence
with its newly launched 'retail' line of safety products,
"Worksafe."
We will continue to grow, and ensure that we are the
leaders in personal protective equipment, both in our own
manufacturing as well as in the products we represent.
